Comprehensive
Yeast Genome Database
The Munich Information Centre for Protein Sequences Comprehensive
Yeast Genome Database (CYGD) aims to present information
on the molecular structure and functional network of the
entirely sequenced, well-studied model eukaryote, the budding
yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In addition the data of
various projects on related yeasts are used for comparative
analysis. Search facility included.
National
Collection of Yeast Cultures
The NCYC, based in the UK, maintains over 3,100 non-pathogenic
yeasts, including type strains, strains of general interest
for education and research, strains of industrial importance
and genetically marked strains. They also maintain extensive
collections of brewing yeasts and genetically defined strains
of Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
PathCalling
Yeast Interaction Database
Collaboration between a number of institutes in the USA
has resulted in the completion of a genome-wide analysis
of the protein-coding genes of the yeast genome. This analysis
identifies proteins which are likely to form stable complexes
with other proteins. Site may be searched by gene or keyword,
or the user may browse a list of interacting yeast proteins.
Saccharomyces
bayanus
Two SEM micrographs of cells of this yeast, with a brief
discussion of yeast biology.
snoRNAs
from S. cerevisiae
A comprehensive database on Small Nucleolar RNAs from the
yeast provided by the University of
Massachusetts.
Yeast
(Budding, Fission & Candida)
This practical site from the WWW Virtual Library contains
information for the non-specialist, as well as detailed
information regarding S.
cerevisiae, S. pombe and C. albicans, including gene and
protein sequence information. Useful links and information
for educators are also
included.
Yeast
Molecular Biology
Educational site from the University of Munich provides
comprehensive coverage of; yeast cell architecture and function, metabolism,
molecular techniques, the yeast genome,post-genomic research,
proteolysis, transport, growth and cell cycle, retrotransposons,
transcription, chromatin, signalling and regulatory circuits,
hemiascomycetes and aspects of fungi related to yeast. References
are updated and information may be viewed by chapter.
Yeast
Protein Complex Database
European-based site providing systematic analysis of multiprotein
complexes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, as a model system
relevant to humans. Access requires registration.
Yeast Resource Centre
University of Washington research centre for facilitating
the identification and characterization of protein complexes
in the yeast S. cerevisiae. The Centre provides expertise
and access to four advanced technologies: mass spectrometry,
two-hybrid arrays, deconvolution fluorescence microscopy
and protein structure prediction.
