Australian National Herbarium Fern Pages
This resource provides information about the taxonomy and distribution of Australian and regional ferns and their allies as well at general information about pteridophyttes. The site is provided as a free resource for education and research and includes information on
classification, fern allies, conservation, as well as images and links. Includes ferns from Papua New Guinea.

Bryological Glossary
A multilingual glossary for bryology from the Missouri Botanical Garden. Includes a brief definition of a term in English and gives the equivalent French, German and Spanish translation of the term.

Checklist of Australian Lichens
Current alphabetical lichen checklist includes 3075 accepted species and infraspecific taxa in 387 genera.

Checklist of Ferns of the World
A collaboration between Germany and New
Zealand, this site offers a portal to web-pages listing all the species of fern-allies and ferns of the world. Unfortunately, information (and
illustrations) is provided in downloadable format and the authors have now decided to package this on CD-ROM for sale.

Endangered Lichens
List of species protected by law in different countries provided by University of Hawaii. Not very comprehensive and few links.

Information About Lichens
University of Oldenburg site giving basic
description, structure and environmental importance. Useful advice is given on how to make microslides.

International Association of Lichenologists
This site from the University of Hawaii provides membership information, a list of lichenologists and lichen societies, endangered lichens and a
newsletter (not current).

International Association for Lichenology
Describing itself as the “official” web page, this site from Europe promotes the study and conservation of lichens. Clearly at odds with the University of Hawaii-based Association, the site has not been updated beyond 2003.

Introduction to Lichens
Helpful information about lichens from this USA site - for the generalist or the specialist, it details their fossil record, life history, ecology, morphology and systematics, plus a number of useful links to other sites in the US.

Lichen Herbarium
The Lichen Herbarium at the Botanical Museum in Oslo is divided into Norwegian, foreign and type sections. Includes recent literature on lichens, checklists of specimens, the Threatened Macrolichens Project, fact sheets and distribution maps for selected lichens.

Lichen Information System
Range of information about lichens. Includes news, lists of collections, endangered species, societies, associations, researchers, international conferences, environmental factors, pictures, references and systematics.

New Zealand Forest Lichens
General description, photographs of various
genera and related links. Useful general interest.

Taxonomy of Philippine Lichens
Pioneering site that should be encouraged. In
addition to providing taxanomic identification of Philippine lichens with photographs, there are also a number of useful links, including a key to the lichen genera of Bogor, Cibodas and
Singapore Botanical Gardens. Also included are recently published articles.
